Invasion. A Grey’s episode that’s appropriately titled for once. In this episode we see the residents and interns from Mercy West Hospital ‘invade’ Seattle Grace. We also watch as one of our favourite Doctors is given the boot.

Well, we say given the boot, but we never know what the crazy writers at Grey’s are going to do. She might come back for some guest episodes (like Addison, played by Kate Walsh) or she might die and come see Alex (Justin Chambers) in some sort of vision (just as Denny did). Don’t put anything past Shonda Rhimes and co.
Anyway, without further ado…
Surgery of the Week.
Isn’t it strange that a show about surgical procedures had a grand total of 0 surgical procedures in it this week? That’s right, a big fat zero.

So, although we didn’t have any actual footage of the surgery, we’re going to have to go with the kidney patient Bailey (Chandra Wilson) saved after Izzie’s epic FAIL. Apparently, she stopped her heart beating completely – and the Chief blames her cancer for it later.
Romantic Moment of the Week.
Again, the romance was also lacking this week! Does anyone know the actual themes of this episode?

I suppose the most romantic piece of scripting this week was Dr. Robbins (Jessica Capshaw) telling Callie’s (Sara Ramirez) Father that she loves his Daughter.
Mr. Torres is quite obviously a man who is set in his ways – his beliefs being quite archaic and outdated. However, Arizona is such an expert speaker (seriously, she could convince even Bailey to do something she didn’t want to do) that she convinces him to give them his blessing. My words don’t do it justice, you have to watch it for yourself.
All in all, we can safely say that Arizona is a good man in a storm.
Dr. Bailey Moment of the Week.
Again, a LACK of Bailey! I think someone read my last review and purposely took out all of the scenes that related to my categories.

We do briefly get a glimpse of hard-ass Bailey however, when she firmly tells Izzie of her disappointment. (See ’surgery of the week’.) Because there was so little Bailey in this episode, we didn’t really see more than one side of her, but the tough-cookie facade Chandra Wilson is so talented at portraying is the Bailey we’ve all come to love.
Welcome back, Miranda.
Quote of the Week.
There was actually a few contenders for ‘quote of the week’ this week. Strangely, most of them belonged to either Callie or Arizona.
I was originally going to go with ‘I am a good man in a storm’ from Arizona, or one of Callie’s Bible quotes to fight back at her Father. However, I decided to go with humour, rather than a powerful, dramatic line. The winner, therefore, is:
“You can’t pray away the gay!”
A short but sweet comment from Torres, who repeated this line to her Father several times in the hospital’s crowded waiting room, each time with more gusto than the last. The obvious rhyme and assonance of the sentence gives it that air of comedy, yet you know there’s an underlying serious subject behind it. (Sorry to go all ‘English University Student’ on you there.)
This weeks episode, on the whole, was pretty much disappointing. No Bailey, no romance, not even surgery in a show BASED on freakin’ surgery! With the residents of Mercy West moving in too, the episode pretty much sucked. Arizona and Callie pretty much saved the day this week, with at least a little bit of drama and character growth coming from the both of them.
Overall episode rating: 7 out of 10. (6 of those points going to Calzona. The other going to Dr. Bailey kicking ass. As per usual.)
