Okay, so I’m not saying these songs should be exclusive to iPod. No. Whatever you listen to your music on – your Zen, your mp3 player, the CD player, your walkman phone – these are the songs you simply have to have on it.
Whether you’re an indie kid, an emo kid, an easy-listener or a raver, there’s pretty much something for everyone.
Some of these songs you’ll probably have never heard of, and others will be timeless classics. Whatever, these songs are amazing and if you don’t already have them, download away!

I can’t believe that metallica wasn’t on there at all. Talk about one F***ing famous band. Queen you could have picked a better song as well. Bohemian Rhapsody, anyone?
Lauren

OH I love Metallica. I do apologize for my lack of thoroughness.
And HA! Bohemian Rhapsody is the obvious choice. Seven Seas of Rhye is one people won’t have already and therefore I chose that one. It is one of my personal favourites. Get over yourself.

Hey, ignore the people crying just cause a certain band isn’t on here. I like this list; it has things from many genres and I think less shallow than many. Bands like Flyleaf show you actually thought about the choices not just picked the favourites of certain genres. Good job mate.

Stop being an immature little brat. Nowhere on this list did it say BEST SONGS OF TODAY! It said ‘best songs to have on your iPod.’ I don’t care if people don’t like the list, but maybe a) you should find some proper music and you’ll have a better taste and b) you shouldn’t bother coming to a website which is written for all ages. Cheers.

Um, just saying, a whole lot of these songs are ‘our generation’.

If your taste means that you’ve only heard of those artists, then I’m embarrassed for you. I hadn’t heard some of the artists before, but if you haven’t heard or artists like Bloc Party, Radiohead, Maccabees or Arcade Fire, then you must be about 6 years old. They are great artists from our “geneouration”.

Great list! Everyone leaving negative feedback needs to relax, it’s hard to pick only 101 songs out of so many possibilities.

Ok there was alot of songs but personally about 90% of them were either old or just plain suck. There were probably 20 songs I’ve heard of and 15 of them were probably must haves. They weren’t even classics just well known songs. I was disappointed when I seen this

whilst some of the music is not specifically to my taste I got to say I loved the list!
it’s nice to see such an eclectic mix, and to see some of my favourites on there. Nice to see a
list that doesn’t conform to the usual and stands out. will certainly be on the lookout
for some listed.
