Grey’s Anatomy Review: State of Love and Trust

***WARNING: This post may contain spoilers.***

Last week saw the return of Izzie. This week saw the return of Arizona’s heelies.

Hurrah! We shall rejoice.

As much as I would like to spend the whole review talking about how much I missed those little booties, there are more pressing issues at hand.

Surgery of the Week.

Although it wasn’t really a surgery, Altman notes that Karev performed a miracle this week: he blocked a tear in the main aortic artery.

Now I don’t know a lot about surgery, but Alex’s instinct saw him cut open his patient out of the OR and stick his hands right in there. Turns out, this saved a life. Kudos.

Romantic Moment of the Week.

You know when I say ‘romantic’, I often mean ’sexy’.

And this week, our resident sex-a-holics really lived up to their name.

Yang and Hunt did the deed at least four times during the episode. One of these times saw Yang end up with burns on her behind and another meant that Yang skipped a major surgery, but it was worth it in the spur of the moment.

Too bad it ended in tears…

Bailey Moment of the Week.

There were SO many great Bailey moments this week that it was hard to choose which was best.

In the end, I thought I’d praise the fact that she finally put an end to the looming storyline of how Webber needs to seek help.

We also saw Miranda give the anaesthesiologist a stern talking to in true Bailey fashion, but people have been trying to convince the (ex-)Chief to go to rehab all day, yet Bailey was the only one who succeeded.

Brownie points go to Chandra Wilson (who plays Dr. Bailey) week – those were a lot of speeches, and every one of them was acted with stunning conviction. Awesome.

Quote of the Week.

For the past few weeks, we’ve had large paragraphs of text for our quotes.

So this week, I thought I’d go for one of Robbins’ rare one-liners:

“This really isn’t gunna work for me…”

The fact that these 3 are sharing a bed really is comedic when you cast your eyes and ears on it. LOL-a-thon indeed.

Overall Episode Rating: 8.5 out of 10. Great drama, great acting, great story lines without over-powering us.

Next week, it’s Valentine’s Day in Seattle. But which of the couples will be truly happy?
