Now I feel like I’m about 3746 years late in reviewing this. But actually, Sex & the City is something very near to my heart.

You see, the reason for this is because my 3 girlfriends and I are so similar to the four main characters in Sex & the City, it’s almost like someone stepped into our lives and based them on us. (Click here if you want a more detailed explanation.)

So in short, watching a new clip of Sex & the City is almost like watching our own lives play out in front of us, so you should know that I’m a little biased when I say I actually really loved this movie.

Of course, the actresses are looking a little worse for wear, but they are definitely ageing gracefully. Kim Cattrall, who plays Samantha, is clearly the oldest of the group – her laughter lines stand out more than any of the others.

But what I love is no matter the age, the 4 women don’t stop.

With the sex being just as good as the series and the fashion being even better, this sequel is actually a little bit awesome if you ask me.

My favourite scenes include a drunken conversation between Miranda (Cynthia Nixon) & Charlotte (Kristen Davis), in which they humorously discuss the woes of Motherhood.

Things aren’t all plain and simple for Carrie (Sarah Jessica Parker) either. When the 4 friends visit Abu-Dhabi, she runs into an ex, sending her whole life spinning in the wrong direction. But what happens? I’ll let you see it first.

Well actually, I’d recommend this movie; something which other reviewers have been reluctant to do. In fact, I’ll recommend the movie to all girly girls, and some boyish girls, who can relate to the dramas of these girls. Any woman who looks at this movie with disgust appears to me to be extremely un-feminist and any man? Well, they’re just men really. I wouldn’t expect them to even half understand.

So, 2 different ratings.

For Women: 9 out of 10.

For Men: 3 out of 10.

No, it’s not a cast list for some twisted version of ‘Love Actually’, that’s the cast list for Tim Burton’s new 3D spectacular ‘Alice in Wonderland’.

Now on my visit to the cinema to see this, I already had in mind the idea that many other reviews had stated that Burton should have stuck to the original plot. I’m not going to give anything away, but I will say that I pretty much loved the change in plot. It was nice to see a re-make that wasn’t so much of a re-make. Fabulous.

Depp and Bonham Carter do as great a job as they always do. Nothing can top what they did together in Sweeney Todd, but their roles as the Mad Hatter and the Queen of Hearts were pretty much flawless.

One performance I really was impressed with was Anne Hathaway as the White Queen. She was actually pretty great, and I’ve never been a huge fan of hers. Brits Barbara Windsor and Stephen Fry showcased their vocal acting skills to perfection as the feisty Dormouse and the creepy Cheshire Cat.

The effects were as magical as the plotline: on several occasions it actually felt like the Cheshire Cat was staring you right in the eye. The cutest things I have ever seen were the toad henchmen of the evil Queen, who made the movie for me. It’s always the subtleties that capture your heart when it comes to movies. For example, the intertwining of the Jub Jub bird and the frumious Bandersnatch alongside Carroll’s ‘Jabberwocky’ within the movie were great, especially when you’re a fan of literature.

I’m struggling to think of words to describe how I feel about this film. I think I’m going to have to take a leaf out of Lewis Carroll’s book and describe it as ‘yunteringly, filooberously whimzery with a trolk of billugering’. Definitely the best 3D film so far this year.

Make of that what you will.

Overall Rating: 8 out of 10.

It’s not Bullock’s acting that makes this movie bad, per se, it’s the crappiness of the general storyline, plot and generally everything else that makes it awful.

One thing that is good? The music. The first song we hear is ‘Everybody’s Got Their Something’ by Nikki Costa, which makes me dance every time I hear it.

I suppose there were a couple of (stifled) giggles coming from the audience, but it wasn’t really a stand-up comedy.

Best performance definitely comes from Sandra, with Bradley Cooper as a nice little piece of eye candy for the ladies. (And the guys, if they like that sort of thing…)

Worst movie I’ve seen this year so far.
